Whilst readers will find this book informative and educative, it is the author`s hope that the findings reported in this book will contribute to ensuring that more people who are health, at least 50kg weight, between age 16-65 years old, lead a safe and low risk life style, voluntarily donate safe blood. Provision of adequate, readily available, affordable and safe blood should always be national and international health priority.

Menard Mutenherwa is a Zimbabwean registered Clinical Scientist (Haematology and Immunohaematology (Blood Transfusion) with the Zimbabwe Medical Laboratory and Clinical Scientist Council currently working for the National Blood Service Zimbabwe as Principal Officer in the Planning, Information and Research Department.
