This systematic presentation of German juvenile criminal law is intended for law students and all those working in the administration of juvenile criminal law. The textbook deals particularly with the criminological and criminal-policy contexts, knowledge of which in juvenile criminal law is indispensable for understanding the legal regulations and their practical application. The discussion takes into account the extensive new legal regulations implemented in December 2019 in the ?Act Revising the Law on Justifiable Self-Defence= and the ?Act on Reinforcing the Procedural Rights of Accused Individuals in Juvenile Criminal Law=.

Prof. Dr. Werner Beulke lehrte Strafrecht, Strafprozessrecht und Kriminologie an der Universität Passau. Seit 2011 ist er in Passau als Strafverteidiger tätig und unterrichtet im Rahmen der Fachanwaltsausbildung weiterhin Jugendstrafrecht. Prof. Dr. Sabine Swoboda lehrt Strafrecht, Strafprozessrecht und Internationales Strafrecht an der Ruhr-Universität Bochum.
